I’m all election-talked and eloquent writed-out. So here’s a lil’ post-election gallery to ease your hungover eyes and brainses.
This is a WPSimpleViewerGallery
(Speakin’ of writed-out … OMG, I’m so pissed. Obama’s speechwriter is only 26. I feel like such a failure.
Maybe it was the beer, but really, Obama’s acceptance speech brought tears to this angry drunk’s eyes. When he started talking about some old woman voter, I was like, “Oh come on, who wants to hear about some stinky old hag.”
Which just proves that speechwriter Jon Favreau (no relation to the actor) has a better developed sensibility than me. He used that lady’s 106 years as a microscope under which to view how far we’ve come in her time. “She was born just a generation past slavery; a time when there were no cars on the road or planes in the sky.” But her life soon came to Dust Bowls, New Deals, Birmingham bombings and now … now. It was the oldest American message in the world made new. Check out the transcript here.)
